BAISARAN VALLEY in KASHMIR |
22nd April was a Black Day in the history of our country. The loss of twenty six lives will remain etched in the memory of Indians as well as others since the media gave a blow by blow account of the whole attack at a picnic spot in Baisaran, PAHALGAM. They were high profile people and the families gave their own version of the terrorist attack in their own dialect. Terrorist attacks are not uncommon in India, especially in the Northern half of the country. Earlier also there were several such attacks on pilgrims on their way to the Amarnath Shrine. Tourists still take risk knowing the fact that they are going closer to the international border which is a always tense zone. Like citizens and NRIs have right to liberty, they have a duty to perform like they should not go to such areas which are special areas where chances of terrorist attacks are high. High profile people always take risk and they love adventure. Kashmir is recognise their friends and. **
Pakistan is a country where military rule is common since the government have tried to destroy terror outfits. But their brothers are doing jihad which for us is terrorism. They become martyrs after fighting a war and people and live with this ideology.
Innocent Bengalees who have lost their lives have left behind their families who are not at a loss. The two Bengalees who returned home in coffins were Bitan Adhikary (40), a techie from Florida who was based in Hyderabad. Another person was Samir Guha (46), a junior statistical officer. Their families shared the gory incident, how helpless they became when some strange looking fellow came near them fully armed.
Their trauma was evident from their description in Bengali and their cry for justice reached thousands of viewers who watched them on television.
For tourists, Baisaran is the mini Switzerland but for locales a place to make business. After the blood shade, the serene environment is probably now again under the strong vigil of the armed forces again.
